It all began with a cinder block shelf
Every college student started with a tiny room and no money. Their living areas were stacked with their worldly possessions collecting dust on the floor or bed or any horizontal surface available. All manner of clothing, book, keepsake, photograph, record, compact disc, VHS tape and magazine were piled on top another in a tectonic plate of shame. Or worse, arranged on the saddest shelving system invented; the cinder block + random plank of wood (in 1937 at the University of Kansas, I believe). Over these years I worked in the K.U. Theater scene shop and had access to every serious piece of carpentry equipment needed to create countless custom organizational units. At first this was so much fun for me, I was happy to do it as birthday presents for friends and family. As the word got out, I was able to charge money for something I had a blast doing, and it is something that still gives me great joy.
Over the years, I get a thrill from guiding friends, family and clients through their seemingly insurmountable organizational dilemmas and navigating through the various recommended options and price point combinations available, and I look forward to using my skill set to figure out your situation.
